Angela Fox has a special interest in working with individuals, couples and families. She traveled around the world for almost 10 years as a teacher and corporate trainer whilst continuing her studies and qualifying as a Psychologist at the University of the Witwatersrand. Whilst still lecturing Psychology, Angela started her own Therapy Practice before joining the Bryanwood Therapy and Assessment Centre in 2003 as a partner and Psychologist. She is also an Associate Member of SANCA (South African Clinical Neuropsychological Association.)

Angela’s qualifications include:

  • BA (H.Dip.Ed) – University of the Witwatersrand
  • BA (Honours: Clin./ Couns. Psychology/Cum Laude)- (Unisa)
  • M.Ed (Ed. Psychology) – University of the Witwatersrand

With experience in many aspects of therapy, Angela’s interests lie in a number of areas:

  • Individual, couple (incorporating Imago approaches if requested) and family therapy
  • Therapy for dysfunctional relationship patterns
  • Play therapy
  • Adolescent issues
  • Parental guidance with a focus on enhancing secure attachment and a democratic approach to child rearing
  • Trauma debriefing and related counseling
  • School counseling services, recommendations and psychosocial support for schools
  • Medico- legal assessments relating to RAF claims and primarily Pediatric head injury
  • Psychological, Cognitive and Educational assessments
  • Study skills
  • Workshops: anger management, self esteem, bereavement, basic counseling skills, stress management, conflict management, sex education for children

Angela uses an eclectic approach in her therapy. This allows her to draw from different approaches depending on the unique needs of the client. She is also conversant in Italian and French should these clients feel more comfortable speaking their preferred language.
