It has come to that time of the year when children and teenagers get their school reports. Results from the previous term’s school report may be a source of uncertainty and confusion for parents. There are many reasons for parents to be concerned, for example, if their children have failed the term, or their grades are not what was expected of them, or teachers have raised concerns such as a child being in-attentive and disruptive in the classroom. When these difficulties arise, it is always a good approach to determine what the root cause of the difficulty is and how to ameliorate it. Low grades are only a symptom and the real cause needs to be found. A full psycho-educational assessment is useful in determining the specific difficulties a child may have. Bryanwood Centre has an Educational Psychologist, Mrs Orit Grossman (a former teacher), who conducts all the assessments.
